Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures

The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) at the request of the G20. It released its final report in June 2017, which sets out recommendations for companies to disclose financial information on the risks and opportunities associated with climate change.
We endorsed these final recommendations in March 2023 and disclose information based on them.

TCFD Consortium

The TCFD Consortium was established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of the Environment, and Financial Services Agency. It serves as a forum for corporations and financial institutions that support the TCFD recommendations to discuss effective corporate information disclosure and ways for financial institutions to utilize disclosed information in making appropriate investment decisions.
Through our participation in the consortium, we appropriately disclose information on the risks and opportunities that climate change presents to our business.
Alliance to End Plastic Waste

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) is an international alliance that works to reduce the leakage of plastic waste into the environment and to promote a circular economy. The AEPW develops solutions with a focus on four strategic areas—infrastructure, innovation, education, and cleanup— and supports multiple projects around the world. The plastic waste problem is complex and requires extensive coordination. Since its launch in 2019, the AEPW has built a global network together with leading companies in the global plastic value chain. It collaborates with government agencies, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) involved with environmental and economic development, and civil society organizations in various countries to develop activities to build a circular economy for plastic.
Inabata works in the plastic recycling business while also developing and manufacturing biodegradable plastics. We have formed alliances with companies participating in the AEPW to implement initiatives aimed at reducing waste plastic from a global perspective.

The Japan Clean Ocean Material Alliance (CLOMA) is a domestic alliance working to solve the problem of marine plastic litter. CLOMA promotes collaboration between different industries involved in the plastic value chain, the sustainable use of plastic products, and the development and introduction of alternative materials.

Based in Britain, CDP is an international NGO working in climate change and other environmental areas. CDP conducts surveys and evaluations by requesting major corporations and cities around the world to disclose information on how they tackle climate change, water management, and other matters. Inabata has responded to CDP’s climate change questionnaire since 2022.
