The index is one of the ESG indices for Japanese equities selected by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index
FTSE Russell, the global provider of indices, designed the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index as a sector-neutral index to reflect the relative performance of Japanese corporations demonstrating excellent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices in each sector. To promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, corporations with particularly high greenhouse gas emissions are only included in the index if their efforts to make improvements are evaluated by the Transition Pathway Initiative’s Management Quality Score.
The index is one of the ESG indices for Japanese equities selected by Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF).
S&P/JPX Carbon Efficient Index
This index is designed by S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world’s largest independent index companies, and the Japan Exchange Group. The Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) constituents are weighted based on carbon emissions data from Trucost with a focus on the levels of environmental information disclosure and carbon efficiency (i.e., carbon emissions per unit of sales). The index uses rules such as giving greater weight to companies that sufficiently disclose environmental information or are highly carbon efficient (i.e., low carbon emissions per unit of sales).
Inabata is assessed in the second decile, which is a relatively high score in the Capital Goods industry group.
The index is one of the environmental indices for global equities selected by the GPIF.
Morningstar Japan ex-REIT Gender Diversity Tilt Index (GenDi J)
Built with the data and scoring methodology of Equileap, GenDi J is designed to emphasize the stocks of companies that have strong gender diversity policies embedded in their corporate culture and that ensure equal opportunities to employees, irrespective of their gender.
