The Tokyo Head Office of Inabata & Co., Ltd. (head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Katsutaro Inabata) has obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification, a scheme for sustainable products. Inabata has been certified under the scope Trader with storage.

ISCC is an international certification concerning sustainability and carbon. It is a scheme for managing and ensuring the sustainability of biomass, recycled, and other raw materials through the supply chain using the mass balance approach*.
The certification allows Inabata to deal in materials whose sustainability is ensured.

Inabata pledges its commitment to comply with the ISCC PLUS requirements in accordance with the latest ISCC regulations.

The Inabata Group has stated in its mid-term business plan and its materiality that it will contribute to resolving environmental issues through business. It is working to expand products that reduce the environmental impact.
In particular, Inabata’s plastics segment has set up the green business promotion project and focuses on providing various decarbonization products and solutions, including bioplastics and recycled plastics.
The acquisition of the ISCC PLUS certification is part of this effort. Inabata will contribute to realizing a decarbonized society by expanding the lineup of sustainable products.

*Under the mass balance approach, the sustainable characteristics of raw materials are allocated to finished products based on the input volumes of such materials, where raw materials with sustainable characteristics (e.g., biomass, recycled materials derived from discarded plastic materials) are mixed with other raw materials (e.g., materials derived from fossil fuels) as they are processed to become finished products for distribution.
